Success Story Reviews

As I just got admitted to INSEAD, I'd like to share my experience with Saagar that helped me build my application.
The tool to enter into your 'self discovery' is very well made and really help to dig into your stories, success, failures, goals etc.
The consultant that worked with me, Saagar, really helped me to structure my thoughts and put the best of me into the application. I found it very difficult to respect the word counts of the essays and Saagar has been very helpful to organize my ideas and summarize them in the essays.
Finally, Saagar gave me very useful tools for the interview process and the many mocks we did together put me in the best condition to pass that exercice.
Thanks to Saagar, I not only got my dream school but also learnt a lot about me and how to highlight the best part of my profil and clarify my goals

The reason I decided to work with Saagar and AV after talking to multiple well-known names in the market was that since the very first conversation I had with them, I felt a sense of comfort to be able to express my strengths and my vulnerability. I believe this is a very underrated skill when people are looking for a consultant.
I knew that the standard requirements from a consultant such as a list of suitable schools, story framework, etc. are something that all good consultants can help me with, given their experience. But I was not looking for a cookie cutter story for my MBA applications. I was looking for my authentic self being portrayed to the admissions committee in the best possible way. And Saagar and AV brought out the qualities of mine through conversations that even I was not aware I had and could be significant. And the only non-negotiable that every b-school is looking for is your genuine story!
Saagar lived up to every expectation and beyond. At Amazon I learnt about customer obsession and working with Saagar I saw what going above and beyond for your client meant. Saagar continued helping me improve on my application pieces even after I was satisfied by the versions. I will always be grateful to him for being by my side while I had a sudden panic attack right before my first application deadline, even though his work was done hours ago, he ensured I had someone helping me through it, burning the night lamp.
The ground-work I did with Saagar also helped me ace the other applications that I filled on my own. In addition, he is amazing at mock interviews and knows exactly what the applicant needs to focus on. As I proceed towards my MBA journey, I am thankful to have made the right choice in choosing Saagar and AV for my application journey.

A friend pointed me to Saagar when I was staring down my Harvard app. And one conversation with Saagar provided immense hope. Saagar had this knack for digging out stories I’d never think to tell. He’d listen, really listen, and then make these suggestions that were gold.

I remember how we worked through this one essay that was giving me nightmares. It was super open-ended, and I was stuck. But Saagar, he’s got this cool calmness, right? He helped me flip my thinking and before I knew it, my essay was not only finished but it felt like... me. And when it came to feedback, Saagar didn’t sugarcoat. If something was off, he’d let me know, harsh but fair.

Then came the crunch time – the essays for Harvard. I was on edge, with just a smidge of time left and my drafts were... let's just say, less than Harvard material. That's when Saagar stepped in like some kind of essay ninja. We were battling time zones and my crazy schedule, but he was relentless. We’d go over my drafts, and he’d spot things I’d missed, turning my jumbled thoughts into coherent stories. With Saagar, it wasn't just about fixing grammar or sentence structure; it was about making sure every word on that application was a piece of the puzzle that was me. And trust me, when Saagar tells you to rework something, you listen. He's got this gentle but firm way of making sure you don't settle for anything less than your best. The result? The day I got that admit from Harvard, it was surreal. Working with him wasn’t just a fantastic experience; it was THE experience that changed the game for me.

From the moment I embarked on my MBA application journey, I felt the path ahead was daunting and intricate. Yet, with Saagar and AV by my side, what seemed like an insurmountable challenge transformed into a journey of self-discovery and triumph. I am immensely grateful for the unwavering support and meticulous guidance they provided at every step.

Navigating through the complexity of my unconventional background and work history was a task that initially left me feeling lost. Saagar and AV, with their exceptional insight and expertise, helped me package my story in a compelling manner that not only highlighted my unique strengths but also addressed potential concerns in my profile. Their ability to structure and refine my narrative was nothing short of transformative. I had initially thought that I didn’t have too many significant accomplishments but they dug deep, and helped me realize things I thought were insignificant were important parts of my story. Add to this that they would respond at unhuman hours – I still remember a mock at 1 am!! Their energy completely rubbed off on me.

The interview preparation phase was particularly remarkable. Saagar's commitment to conducting over 20 mock interviews, delving into the minutest details, and providing constant feedback was instrumental in bolstering my confidence. His patience and dedication throughout this process made it evident that I was not just working with a consultant but a mentor who was genuinely invested in my success.

Saagar and AV's optimism and directness, coupled with their mentorship approach, made the entire application process a rewarding experience. Achieving multiple admissions, including a full-ride scholarship, was a dream realized—a testament to their unparalleled support and guidance.

To Saagar and AV, I extend my deepest gratitude. Your expertise in crafting narratives, flexibility in support, and profound dedication have not only helped me secure my place in prestigious MBA programs but have also instilled in me a newfound confidence and clarity about my future. I unreservedly recommend working with this dynamic duo to anyone aspiring to navigate the complexities of MBA admissions successfully. They are truly a powerful tag team that any applicant would be fortunate to have by their side.

The application season was a bumpy ride and Saagar was instrumental in helping me navigate it.

I got in touch with Saagar through Linkedin regarding my applications and we vibed instantly. He empathized and understood where I was coming from and gave me advice accordingly as we set my apps.

What stood out to me throughout our communication was Saagar’s direct communication style – he didn’t beat around the bush and was unafraid to give me brutal feedback wherever needed since he felt it was in my best interest. Further, he was always available to answer to any questions that I had – always patient, and ever optimistic. It truly felt that I had an ally in my application journey that can feel lonely at times.

There are three key moments that stand out during my experience with him.

First is his advice and feedback during the video essay and interviewing phase. A seasoned communicator, he knew the ins-and-outs of the process. His tips and coaching was invaluable as I felt extremely confident through the interviews.

Second is his mentorship during the waitlist phase. His guidance was instrumental in navigating this tricky phase, strategically sharing inputs with the admissions teams as I hoped to get-off my top choice schools’ waitlist which ultimately happened.

As a result, I landed multiple admits and had tough choices to make in terms of geography. And this is where he came through again. We had multiple calls where he patiently listened through my apprehensions, thoughts, helping me dispassionately evaluate the pros and cons of my options. I can confidently that his advice was critical in my final decision of attending Yale amdist multiple admits!

Overall, I would whole-heartedly recommend Saagar to anybody looking for help on their MBA applications. He knows his craft very well, but most importantly, he is patient, diligent and truly on your side throughout the process. Truly an outstanding experience interacting with him.

As I embarked on my MBA application journey, I was seeking guidance and direction, and close friend recommended Saagar to me. From our very first conversation, I became pretty sure that Sagar is the one I will be working with.  That was the confidence and assurance I got from the call. He was knowledgeable, understanding and on the point.
As we had discussions about my target schools and suitability of my profile, unlike many others out there, he didn't sugarcoat reality. Instead, Sagar was open, straightforward, and provided honest insights, helping me to calibrate my expectations realistically.
Saagar guided me closely with application process. Coming from a manufacturing background, I have had many experiences of handling tough and challenging situations, but I was not clear how to articulate them or relate them to my essays in applications. In our reflection calls, Saagar patiently listened to all of them and gave invaluable insights of how these experiences can be used to showcase my skills and personality in the application by creative a narrative. An example was my achievement of ramping up production during Covid lockdown – Saagar gave the framework and life to my story which really stood out in all my applications.
Saagar was always approachable. Understanding my apprehension to video essays and interviews, Saagar put many hours in helping me prepare thoroughly and build confidence. Reflecting back, there is tremendous change in my approach to answering questions through mock sessions. This helped me develop structure and clarity to my answers which kept the interviewer engaged and captivated, and helped to me clear all the interviews I have attended and get admits from my target schools.
I had a fantastic experience working with him. I would strongly recommend Saagar to anyone looking for help to get into their target MBA schools.

My focus was on European B Schools and INSEAD in particular and Saagar was one of the only consultants I spoke with that had an in-depth understanding of the nuances of the process in this region. He took time to understand my background, strengths, and goals, and worked with me to narrate a compelling story through my application. He provided insightful and honest feedback and guidance on all aspects of the process from CV building, written essays, and video essays, right up to the interview. He was very prompt in his responses and follow-ups, patiently working on multiple revisions with me. Saagar has been instrumental in my getting successful admits from INSEAD and other top European Business Schools and I would highly recommend him.

I kick started my application with a tight timeline in R2 because of retaking GMAT. The call with MBA and Beyond gave me confidence when I was so exhausted with GMAT. The process of "self-discovery" guided me to rethink my stories and the hours' calls with Saagar (my consultant) helped me to choose the most convincing stories for the application.

Saagar and the team helped me streamline the process and, most importantly, helped me in a very efficient and effective way esp interview mocks. This was my first application - Saagar's honest feedback when the essays / interviews mock were not well-prepared and encouragement when we improved helped a lot. I then was able to assess where I was and where I should focus on. The experience also indeed helped me re-discover myself and be reflective as a person.

All in all, I got admitted. Thank you team for the help! Would recommend Saagar.

Reaching out to Saagar for my MBA application turned out to be the decision that completely transformed my journey. Coming from a tech background and aiming for a shift into product management, I knew I had the experience but wasn't sure how to frame it for the MBA leap. Saagar wasn't just a mentor; he became the architect of my story, helping me connect the dots between my past work and my future ambitions.

A particularly challenging moment was after Round 1 of applications. Despite a strong GMAT score, I faced rejections from top B-Schools, leaving me devastated. Saagar stepped in not just as a consultant but as a friend, dedicating countless hours to help refine my application narrative, align my career goals with my past experiences, and identify the key strengths I needed to highlight. His guidance was crucial in transforming my application for the better.

Saagar’s commitment shone through especially during the essay writing phase. I was stuck, unsure of how to articulate my story compellingly. Saagar’s insights were invaluable here; he pinpointed exactly what I needed to focus on, making the essay not just better but deeply personal and reflective of my journey. It was his ability to see the potential in my story and his dedication to showcasing it in the best light that truly made the difference.

Thanks to Saagar, not only did my application improve significantly, resulting in interviews from all the schools I applied to, but his efforts also led me to secure multiple admits with substantial scholarships. It’s rare to find someone who goes beyond the role of a consultant to become a lifelong mentor. Saagar did just that, going above and beyond to connect me with alumni and current students, preparing me meticulously for interviews, and always being there to offer support and encouragement.

For anyone looking to make their MBA dreams a reality, especially with the added challenge of scholarships, Saagar is the mentor you’re looking for. His unparalleled dedication, insight, and ability to bring out the best in your story are what sets him apart. I started this journey looking for a consultant but ended up with a mentor and a guide who was instrumental in turning my MBA aspirations into success

Saagar brought structure, direction and calm to the application process's chaos. He took the time to understand not just my profile but who I am, and my values and goals, which set the tone for the process.

Saagar approached the school selection criteria with pragmatism but also left some space for ambition. His deep insight into the selection criteria of each school ensured I was portraying my authentic self in a language the school understood.

Saagar paid close attention to every step of the process. He went the extra mile to connect me to people and help me research and understand each school. Saagar took the time to debate and challenge my views and ideas.

When it came to essays, Saagar and AV subscribe to a very high standard of quality and work ethic and lead by example. Especially AV’s outcome focus meant he spent as much time as necessary iterating each essay to make it the best possible. Both he and Saagar pinpointed exactly what I needed to focus on, making the essay not just better but deeply personal and reflective of my journey. They are also very conscientious which makes working with him easy.

There was a time when I had given up and checked out of the process and Saagar gave me some much-needed tough love; he grounded and pushed me forward. One of the areas where I felt I could be better were the interviews. Saagar paid extra attention to my interviewing skills and ran 20+ mocks with me until he believed I was truly ready and comfortable!!! He is a fantastic coach – diligent, patient and knows when to push you and when to hold back.

Both him and AV were truly invested in my success. I still remember that during my interviews – both of them were almost waiting to talk to me once it was done and we immediately did a debrief to run through the learnings.

Overall, Saagar and AV were caring mentors, hard taskmasters and  encouraging friends when the time called for it. My MBA would not have happened were it not for Saagar and AV. Would blindly recommend!

I came across Saagar in the most unorthodox of ways - on an anonymous professional grapevine platform. He was kind enough to offer a very detailed response to a query I had posted. We got on a call the very next day, and there was instant chemistry between the two of us. As I was a reapplicant aiming for schools which are notoriously hostile towards reapplications, Saagar was positive and also very straightforward about the scale of the task cut out for us from the get go.
The first step of working with Saagar is a storyboarding session. My session lasted several hours, and was almost therapeutic in nature. Saagar delved into my childhood and extracted examples from my life that I would have never thought relevant from the point of a B School application. Armed with these examples, Saagar helped me weave together a tapestry that captured the very essence of who I was, and which became the backbone of my applications.
The actual applications were intense! Saagar is an unrelenting force, and we would often burn the midnight oil perfecting my essays. I pride myself as a writer, but Saagar helped me realize that every word in a B School application counts. He cut out the fluff from my writing as well as my thought process, and helped me structure my mind, a practice which I have since adopted in every facet of life. Throughout, Saagar was extremely patient with me, even when I sometimes started panicking.
When it came to the video essay / interview prep, Saagar was simply amazing, and dare I say, somewhat strict. He knew how much work had to be done, and realising I was someone who needed a more hands on approach, he didn’t hesitate to give me a kick on the backside when it was required. We did several mock sessions, and he helped me craft stories covering every aspect / quality that is generally asked in an interview. He dedicated an immense amount of time towards this prep, and was instrumental in me handling my interviews confidently.
I have worked with admissions consultants in the past, and its safe to say that Saagar is a league apart. It’s been an absolute privilege working with him. Over the course of the past six months, Saagar has become a mentor, and more importantly, a trusted brother and friend. He is someone whose opinion I value immensely, and he has always gone above and beyond in order to guide and help me, even in very trying circumstances. He is someone whom I will continue to seek out whenever in doubt, and any B School applicant fortunate enough to work with him is truly in incredibly safe hands.

Starting my MBA was a whole new ballgame for me, coming from the tech world where I was juggling product specs, not case studies. That’s where Saagar came in – he was like a translator, turning my tech talk into business savvy. I mean, here was a guy who didn’t just toss me a playbook but actually wanted to hear my story, the nitty-gritty of what makes me, me.

Chatting with Saagar felt like catching up with a friend. He was all ears, anytime I needed to vent or sort through my thoughts. We weren't just ticking boxes; we were building something real, something that felt right. And he’s got this cool way of making you see your worth. I remember stressing over how to show a B-school that a tech engineer had business understanding. Saagar was right there, brainstorming with me until we nailed it. Those mock interviews he set up? Killer. They had me all fired up and ready to take on the real deal.

Picking Saagar to steer my MBA ship was a slam dunk. He rooted for me the whole way, and it was like winning together when I got into the big leagues – my dream MBA spot. He’s got this knack for guiding you without it feeling like he’s taking the wheel. And the moment I got that 'yes' from my dream school, it was clear – this wasn’t just about snagging a spot; it was about carving out my future. A future Saagar had a huge hand in shaping. Man, am I grateful for that journey and the buddy I gained along the way.

Alright, where do I start? Saagar, this guy gets it. I came from crunching numbers and diving deep into analytics, but my GMAT score? Let's just say it wasn't the highlight of my application. I was skeptical at first, but Saagar, he had this different vibe about him. He wasn't about the scores or the typical 'sell-yourself' strategy. No, he was all about what makes you, well, you.

He got me to talk about my love for anime in my essays. Yes, Japanese anime! I never thought my binge-watching could help my MBA app, but Saagar showed me how my unique interests could tell a story about who I am and stand out. And the clock was ticking; we were running against time with deadlines just around the corner. Saagar was up late, sending edits, jumping on calls, pushing me to refine my stories, making every minute count.

And you know what? He even had me shooting for the stars – INSEAD and LBS, schools I felt I had no chance. His interview prep was where we he came into his own – practical, straightforward frameworks, and mock interviews so thorough I knew exactly what I was going to say before I said it. He'd time my answers to the second, pinpointing the moment I'd lose focus and helping me tighten it up.

Then the unbelievable happened – I got the admit. INSEAD and LBS with scholarships! It was all Saagar – his dedication, his belief in me, his attention to detail. He wasn't just a consultant; he was a mentor who really cared. And that made all the difference.

For anybody who thinks they have issues in their profile, Saagar’s your guy. He is not only skilled at creating a compelling narrative but also really makes you believe that you can punch well above your weight when you feel you have no business to.

Embarking on my MBA journey, I was determined to transition into consulting from finance, but unsure how to weave my aspirations into a compelling application narrative. That's where AV's expertise shone. He quickly grasped the intricacies of my industry, identifying the most impactful stories that highlighted my potential as a future consultant. His ability to distill complex experiences into persuasive, coherent narratives was nothing short of remarkable. Thanks to AV, my application didn't just present a career transition; it showcased a strategic vision for leveraging my finance background to excel in consulting. His guidance was instrumental in articulating my aspirations, making my MBA application resonate with the top programs I aimed for.

With AV's guidance, not only did I craft an application that truly represented my aspirations, but I also managed to secure offers from my top four MBA programs. His strategic insight and support were crucial during the interview preparation, ensuring I presented my best self. Ultimately, I chose Georgetown, attracted by their strong consulting focus and the generous scholarship they offered. AV's role in this achievement was indispensable, providing me not just with a roadmap to success, but with the confidence to navigate it.

I cannot overstate the role Saagar Varma played in my journey to securing admission into the Georgetown FT MBA program. Saagar's approach is refreshingly hands-on; he doesn't just guide you, he really makes you work for it, challenges you to push your boundaries and strive for excellence. From the outset, he emphasized the importance of hard work and improvement at every step, ensuring that every aspect of my application was nothing short of impeccable.

Saagar's dedication went beyond polishing essays; he meticulously reviewed every component of my application materials, including letters of recommendation, urging me to seek revisions from recommenders to ensure they were as compelling as possible.

What sets Saagar apart is his steep belief in his clients' potential. Unlike other consultants who may advocate for safer options, Saagar always encouraged me to aim higher, pushing me to pursue ambitious goals rather than settling for the safe bets. His faith in my abilities was contagious, motivating me to always strive for better throughout the application process.

Looking back at the initial drafts of my application materials, I always struck by the stark contrast to the final versions. Saagar's guidance and relentless commitment to perfection transformed my application into a finished product, showcasing my strengths, personality and aspirations with clarity and conviction which more than justified my decision of working with him.

Saagar was always like a brother, a motivator, and a true advocate for my success. I am immensely grateful for his support and wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone embarking on the challenging journey of MBA admissions

I found Saagar in probably the most unlikely place – Reddit. After having multiple free profile evaluations calls with other MBA consultants, I feel I connected best withSaagar. From the outset, he gave me candid feedback and outlined a rough roadmap for me to help maximise my chances. When I was finally done with my GMAT re-attempt, Saagar was ready to hit the ground running to begin assisting on my applications, which was very important bearing in mind that I was already late in the application timeline.
The ‘information gathering’ document he sent me is one of the highlights of the application process. Even though it is quite lengthy, it is an incredible tool for self-discovery and really provides the stepping stone for putting forward an incredible application. The tool forced me to go in-depth in the highlights of not just my professional and academic career, but my personality as well. And the follow-up calls with Saagar helped me brainstorm these highlights and traits with him, to further expand on the stories and their impact. The work done in this stage really helped me structure my essays and tailor them to the differing application requirements for various B-schools.
The best thing about working with Saagar was that his feedback was never sugar-coated. He would tell me what I should highlight and always point-out things that needed re-working. The mock interview process, too, was well thought out and helped me prepare for any curveballs that might arise in the actual interview. I saw an incredible turnaround in my interview performance during the mock interviews and that confidence really helped me on my interview day. Overall, I feel, Saagar didn’t look at me as just a client, but as a friend who he wanted to succeed. And that reflects in his dedication towards the number of edits, mocks, brainstorming sessions, andfeedback sessions even at odd hours of the night. This helped me put across a well-rounded application and secure an admit at one of my dream schools.

Saagar was more than a consultant, he was a mentor. Frankly, I didn't even know what to expect from an MBA admissions consultant. But Saagar didn't disappoint. Something very unique that Saagar emphasised a lot on was on NOT choosing colleges based only on rankings.

He advised me quite a bit about how to choose careers by speaking to students. He also helped with practical techniques of cold outreaches for networking and job hunts that he had seen to work.

He pushed me to deliver better outputs. For the resume alone, we went through 10-15 revisions. Each iteration taught me more about the readers perspective i.e how would adcom perceive me based on this resume. Similar attention to detail was witnessed with essays where he was thorough, and the interview coaching which was outstanding (continuing to help me beyond the MBA applications). He knew how to position my story, especially for scholarships. And I was super glad when I received an admit from my top choice school.

All in all, I was super happy with Saagar's help for my MBA admissions journey and would highly recommend him.
